Role Summary
The Regulatory Affairs Manager will be responsible for interpreting regulatory reporting requirements and translating them into practical, client-ready product, configuration, and implementation outputs.
The role sits at the intersection of regulation, product, implementation, and client support. It requires someone who can monitor regulatory change, understand transaction reporting obligations, define business and system requirements, support client onboarding, and help ensure that Control Now’s solutions remain accurate, explainable, and aligned to regulatory expectations.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong transaction reporting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work closely with clients, product teams, implementation teams and senior stakeholders.
We are looking for a Regulatory Affairs Manager who specialises in MIFIR, but we welcome applications from regime generalists and / or specialists in other regulatory regimes.
The Regulatory Analysts’ tasks will include:
· Regulatory Monitoring: Set up channels for monitoring regulatory and technological change. Identify changes of importance for Control Now, then summarize key information before internal distribution. Help plan regulatory change activity, including scope, priorities, implementation approach and communication to relevant stakeholders. Track and own actions to completion.
· Client Delivery: Business Analysis: Translate regulatory requirements and client business needs into clear business technical specification e.g. transformation logic, validation requirements, configuration changes and client-specific business rules. Provide clear regulatory rationale and traceability for requirements, linking them back to regulatory texts, guidance or agreed business analysis.
· Client Delivery: Onboarding: Confirming business requirements, reviewing client processes and helping define how Control Now services should be configured. Lead or support client workshops to review data, debug results, identify issues and agree actions. Configure or support the configuration of business-level rules, demo setups and training materials where required. Work with clients and internal teams to ensure onboarding activity is aligned to the client’s reporting obligations and operating model.
· Client Delivery: Project Management: Definition of project scope and plan for delivery (Gantt charts, activity plans, resource planning, rag status, expected and forecast date). Management of regular process for reviewing plan, updating activities, managing stakeholders and escalating where required.
· Compliance Support: Provide second-line regulatory and configuration support for client queries. Answer client and internal questions relating to transaction reporting requirements, Control Box configuration, validation results and reporting outcomes
Person Specification
· Regulatory Knowledge: 5+ years of experience with multiple MIFIR RTS reporting regulatory requirements (or similar).
· Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial services regulation, with direct experience in transaction reporting.
· Business Analysis and Communication: Ability to understand complex documentation related to regulations and to summarise it into digestible content and communicate internally to spread the knowledge. Ability to align the message to different audience types.
· Data Analysis: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to work with data, reporting logic, validations, exceptions or reconciliation outputs.
· Compliance Analysis: Ability to interpret detailed regulatory texts, technical standards, guidance and Q&As into business and technical specifications.
· Client Facing: Confidence working directly with clients and internal stakeholders.
· Organisational skills: Ability to plan and prioritise own work, work independently following strategical goals of the company. Ability to manage competing priorities across regulatory change, onboarding, support and testing work.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of Regulatory Compliance and Regulatory Requirements, with experience applying these in financial services or RegTech environments.
Demonstrated expertise in Regulatory Affairs and managing Regulatory Submissions related to transaction reporting or similar regulatory frameworks.
Experience working within or overseeing a Quality System, including maintaining documentation, controls, and audit readiness.
Solid understanding of financial markets, transaction reporting regimes (e.g., EMIR, MiFIR, SFTR or similar), and data integrity principles.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulatory concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively in a hybrid work environment.
Relevant university degree (e.g., law, finance, economics, or related discipline) or equivalent professional experience; professional certifications in compliance or risk are an advantage.
