A letter from the Managing Director

November 28, 2019

What an eventful year we have had in the regulatory reporting world!

If you thought regulatory enforcement was off the menu, think again. We have had 2 messages from the FCA via their market watch newsletter in the space of 6 months (see links below) highlighting specific areas that need addressing by reporting firms.

We think it is the FCA giving the market a pre-emptive warning for further scrutiny in 2020.

ESMA have also given the FCA a rap across the knuckles in a recent review on the EMIR data quality monitoring. They came bottom of the class in a review of 6 NCAs use of EMIR data.

You can find a much more detailed analysis of each of these stories in the “News” section of our newsletter and on our website. For each item, we identified updates in our tools to ensure as a user of TR Assurace product suite you won’t fall foul of these requirements.

We would like to put a HUGE thank you out to all our clients and partners in 2019.

You have been instrumental in us building a market leading transaction reporting assurance software suite. We have taken all your feedback and used it build out the functionality of the tools.

In parallel we have been 100% focused in developing the tools in such a way that will allow for them to be scaled for the distribution to the market as a whole. We believe in serving our clients through the use of configurable software. This allows our clients to benefit from owning their data and reporting assurance process rather than relying on outsourced consultants who might provide slow and inconsistent results.

We are committed to improving our tools as per our client’s needs – if you have any suggestions for feature improvements, please let us know.

We think 2020 is going to be big year for Control Now, and have recently taken on a top notch sales team, and are actively recruiting into the business. If you or anyone you know would be interested in joining our team, please get in touch.

This is the first of our newsletters, which we plan to distribute quarterly. We hope they are a useful round up of what is going on in the world of transaction reporting. We would also like to draw your attention to our website which has a reporting resource centre for use by the whole market.

As ever, please spread the word, we offer completely free no obligation reporting health checks for both accuracy and completeness reconciliations. They take 10 minutes to complete and one of our consultants will give you a compliance walk through of the results.

Enjoy the festive period, and bring on 2020!
